Objective
The objective of this project was to create multiple deliverables for a small art gallery that could benefit from a new visual system. It culminated into a project with many different types of deliverables; a poster series, exhibit booklet, postcard, and a new branded environment inside the gallery.
The artist on display at the Ian Tan Art Gallery Vancouver was an abstract artist that still had a sense of organization and control. I tried to portray a clean and modest look across every deliverable to influence tourists and young college students in the area to visit the gallery. The color palette is simple with a sans serif typeface that contrasts well with the vibrancy and movement of the current artist’s work. I paid close attention to every detail and made sure that the formats of each deliverable were interchangeable with any upcoming artist on display.

The colors chosen for the text and iconography were taken directly from one of the artist's work. It is a method that can be used for any artist the gallery is showcasing. The geometric shapes are used to counter the abstract nature of this specific artist's paintings. They may or may not be used in future deliverables.

I created a brochure cover that is versatile enough to have a future artist's work completely filling the spread. The white text box has 50% opacity that won't overpower the design.

Each artist statement on the wall is easily replaceable with a left justified text and a portrait. There should always be a quote to the right of the image that expresses the underlying message of their work. Their name will always be above the image in a legible sans serif typeface in all caps.

The geometric shapes and text colors throughout the brochure will reflect the colors of the gallery's current artist's work.

The geometric shapes and colors displayed in the gallery should be interchangeable to reflect the work of the artist on display.

The utilization of the artist's work in the background of flyers and posters should be discernible and used with the care. The images chosen should be as light and inviting as possible. I've designed a creative brief that goes into much more detail about my process, visuals used, before and after photos, and all of the various deliverables I made.
